Caring for acrylic surfaces

High-gloss Akrilik is low-maintenance, but a few simple habits keep it looking showroom-fresh for years.

Everyday cleaning

A soft microfibre cloth and a little warm water handle almost everything. For marks, a mild soap solution is plenty — wipe, then dry with a clean cloth to avoid streaks on the gloss.

What to avoid

Skip abrasive pads, scouring powders and solvent-based cleaners. They can dull or micro-scratch the hard coat over time. Grit is the real enemy of gloss, so lift dust rather than dragging it.

Treat a gloss surface like a lens: wipe gently, keep it dry, avoid grit.

The long game

Deal with spills promptly, use trivets under anything very hot, and your Akrilik will hold its depth and shine long after cheaper finishes have gone flat.
